Dancing boys dressed as women can be seen in Jemaa el-Fnaa Square in Marrakech. This takes most visitors by surprise (both Moroccan and Westerners) as one would never expect to see such spectacle of men, dressed as women and dancing / moving like women.
Everybody knows or should expect this kind of crazy spectacles in Jemaa el-Fna square, indeed an insane place in the whole world. The weird thing about this is that it is a very gay show – and homosexuality is forbidden in Islamic countries. Definitely the guys dancing are gay, no doubt about it.

This guys dressed as women dance and entertain the crowd while making sexual movements while dancing and talking to men passing by. This is fun for most people and very attractive for a small minority, but, the thing is that Moroccan men do love to watch this. It is normal that many man from the crowd just join the dance with the “Moroccan lady boys”.
