Who would say that deep inside the old Medina of Marrakech, you would find a 16th century UNESCO World Heritage Fountain? Indeed Chrob ou Chouf fountain is a precious 16th century work of architecture. This Saadian fountain was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site back in 1985.

Its upper crown is made of wood in the form of a honeycomb and the whole is covered by a green tile roof. Above the gorgeous lintel is an Andalusian inscription inviting passers-by to drink and look. This is in Arabic is “said shrob ou shouf” (can be also spelled Chrob ou chouf.
