In the far end of the Mellah, the Jewish district of Marrakech you find an incredible well preserved old Jewish cemetery. Jewish people have been part of the early days of the Moroccan history.
This cemetery can actually be visited and you can just go inside and explore the old tombs. This is a very interesting part of Marrakech that usually people do not explore. Jewish in Morocco are a very important group, and Marrakech used to have thousands of Jewish Moroccan citizens. Nowadays the number fell down to around 300.

Marrakech cemetery is very important in the Jewish world since many famous and respectful Tsadikkims are actually burried here. A walk inside this peaceful site makes you discover a whole new Moroccan culture that usually is not to be found. Thousands of regular tombs with Hebrew language writings, many small bigger tombs that belong to Rabbis and many religious signs intrinsically connected to the Jewish religion.
You can walk and enter freely in the cemetery. In the end of the visit there is a small tradition of washing your hands in the fountain near the gate. Also if you want to contribute with some money to the Marrakech Jewish cemetery guardian you can give him 20 Dirhams. A visit to this cemetery can be made on the same walk when you also visit the near by Marrakech synagogue.
