Which restaurant to chose in Jemaa el-Fnaa square might be problematic since you’ll have so many choices. Jemaa el-Fnaa around 4pm starts to built a whole new world different from the one during the day. Suddenly in late afternoon hundreds of little charriots start entering the square carrying portable restaurant stands. They built it up in few hours and that is it! Jemaa el-Fnaa comes alive again!

This little restaurants serve all types of Moroccan food and your choice goes from couscous, to Moroccan harira soup, fried fish, chicken, grilled meat, salads, pastilla, meat and vegetable tajine. Some restaurants are specialized in sheep meat where all parts of the animal are cooked inside clay pots. Expect several heads of the animal presented on top of the table just where you’ll eat. You can taste its brains also.
Basically this whole restaurants in Marrakech presented in Jemaa el-Fnaa square are a way to rpesent all types of Moroccan food and cuisine just in one place. Prices depend on what you eat but expect to pay around 50 to 70 Dirhams with full meal.
My personal advice is the restaurant from Aicha, the number one restaurant in Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Aicha is a Moroccan woman working in the restaurant business for more then 2 decades and she is the big boss of severeal emplyess in this fine funny crazy amazing restaurant in Marrakech. Don’t miss it.
